MealSnap, a $2.99 iOS app lets you measure the calorie intake of the food you are about to ingest. All you need to do is take a pic of the food in front of you via the MealSnap app, send it in and the app would spit back the calorie count. The only draw-back of this app so far is that the order of magnitude of its estimates is pretty large.

Twitter’s Mobile Usage Surges

According to Twitter CEO, Ev Williams, Twitter’s total mobile users has surged 62% in the last four months. What’s interesting is nearly 16% of new users begin their Twitter experience on a mobile device, either via official or third party apps, mobile web or sms.

bump1PayPal has teamed up with Bump Technologies, and have launched a revamped iPhone app that lets you transfer money by just bumping two phones together. Here’s a situation – how quickly could you divvy up a food bill at a restaurant and sort out accounts instantly? The new app lets you calculate everyone’s share by splitting the check, even factoring in tax and tip. Then you just bump your phones together or choose a recipient from your mobile contacts and transfer money, instantly. All transactions between friends sorted, no sweat!
