iPad Users Have Downloaded 3 Billion Apps To Date: ABI Research

ABI Research, finds that iPad users have downloaded 3 Billion apps since the launch of the original iPad in 2010. iPhone took 2 years to hit the same milestone, while iPad has outpaced the iPhone by crossing the 3B download barrier in just 18 Months. iPad now accounts to 19% of the cumulative app downloads by Apple users.

iPad Video Consumption Already 5x Greater Than iPhone: MeFeedia

ipad-picMefeedia, a video discovery and sharing engine reports that iPad video consumption is showing massive growth, with just 3 weeks’ worth of their internal data analysis. Few of their key findings include iPad users now consume video 3x as many as web user video consumption, and watch video on the device 4x longer. With relation to its shorter cousin, the iPhone, video viewership on the iPad has increased by 5x. The video consumption is growing exponentially on a week on week basis thus far.

Apple begins accepting iPad app submissions

iPad-AppsApple yesterday called on developers to begin submitting their iPad apps for approvals. March 27 is the deadline date for developers to submit their apps if they hope to make it for the tablet launch, scheduled for April 3rd. Apple to review app submissions and revert with their feedback quickly about the readiness of the new app with the launch. App gold rush 2.0 thus begins.
