Tablet Users Watch 30% More Video Than Desktops: Ooyala

Online video platform, Ooyala, published their new Video Index Report, which shines the light on the state of online video every quarter. Ooyala analyzes anonymized online video consumption patterns of 100M monthly unique users, globally. Their key find states that tablet users consume 30% more video than desktops.

Tablet users tend to complete watching videos at 2x the rate of desktops.

Other key findings include

  • Video plays on connected TV devices and game consoles grew 3x quarter over quarter.
  • For longer form video content (> 10 minutes), users preferred to watch it on larger screens using connected TV devices and gaming consoles.
  • iPads garnered a 97% share on Ooyala’s platform, thus considerably crushing Android on online video viewing.
