Mobile Video Calling Startup Tango Raises $42M Series B; Desktop the Next Destination

Tango, a cross platform mobile video calling app, have closed a Series B round of funding to the tune of $42M. They are now adding desktop to the mix and users can video call for free between Windows PC, iOS devices and Android devices with front facing cameras. The funds would also be used to ramp up their team in China.

Free Voip App Viber Makes its Debut on Android

Viber, a popular and free iPhone Voip app, is debuting on Android today after being in limited beta for over two months. Apart from making free Voip calls and sending free texts, Android users can expect features such as pop-up text message notification, full call screen upon receiving calls, in-app call logs, and the option to use the Viber dialer for all phone calls.

Google Undrapes Wallet, it’s NFC Enabled Mobile Payment Solution

Google raised the curtains on its mobile payment product, and demoed the NFC driven ‘Wallet’, in its NYC offices today. Virgin Business Media conducted a study on data consumption by apps in the U.K and reveals some interesting findings.
