Blackberry has long been the weapon of choice for execs in corporations, and preferred by the enterprise due to its strong security and data management features. Verizon customers (only currently) in the U.S could avail the new Bing app on their Android phone. The app is stacked with features such as search on images, movies, news, maps and directions. The map feature is interesting; along with directions it also provides the user traffic and satellite views. Mozilla, unveiled its alpha release of its mobile web browser codenamed Fennec for Android and N900 smartphones. Demandware, an ecommerce provider in conjunction with AT&T’s sterling commerce conducted a retail study to find that more consumers are increasingly using mobile devices to shop. The key finding from their survey, which aimed to measure consumer attitude towards mobile shopping, indicates that 15% of the consumers have used their mobile devices to make purchases. Ground Truth, a mobile media measurement company finds that the visitors to mobile dating sites nearly doubled since summer began in the U.S. The company says the traffic witnessed a 92 percent jump between the first week of June and the last week of July. Microsoft in its blog post today, states that their Windows Phone 7 would be available on shelf in a blink of an eye. This blink is still a couple of months away, we suspect.
